When it comes to our online businesses we tend to think in a limited way. Although, online/internet marketing is arguably the best form of promotion for your business, it is important to remember the great benefits of marketing offline as well.

An All-in-One Awesome Package!
Turn your passion into a money-making business…fast and easy. It really is cheaper than you think!
Dear Online Friend,
Having a web presence today is a must. And having a good one is even better. But don’t take my word for it. Consider these facts* and see how important a website could be for you:
-
More then 8 billion web pages have been tallied on the Internet as of March 2007
-
Netcraft, an Internet monitoring company tracking Web growth since 1995, reported some 106,875,138 Web sites with domain names and content on them in the year 2007, compared to only 18,000 Web sites in August 1995.
-
Turning a basic website into an income source is a popular practice today.
People are turn websites into money-making opportunities. And they are doing so by focusing on one of two main types of sites:
1) An information site drawing visitors via freebies – free reports, downloads, articles and more, then earning through clicks and other revenue-generating streams.
2) An online shopping cart - where shoppers can purchase products and services at their convenience 24/7.
However, building websites and turning them into money-making opportunities isn’t easy. And if you don’t watch out, your costs could soar too high, leaving you in the red or with little to no opportunity to even cover your initial expenses back in a reasonable amount of time.
Let’s take a quick look at what you need in a website plus average costs. Then you can do the math for yourself and see what fits in with your budget and basic business plans.
What You Need In A Website
Your website needs an excellent overall presence, more than just a software solution. Your site needs:
-
A focused theme. There are more than dozens of site types out there ranging from A to Z from Affiliate sites to Blogs, to Community sites and Database sites and Web Portals and more. A good design team will help you pull your “passion” together into a tight focused business.
-
A good design with strong color and font combinations that don’t cause people headaches. Large digital images / graphics, tiny fonts, too many colors and too many bells and whistles loading all at once can overwhelm many website visitors. Don’t risk people clicking away. A good web design team will coordinate just what you need on your site.
-
Good navigation and functionality. Your website visitors need to be able to move around your site, place items in your cart, post messages and be able to take care of any number of interactions on your site – fast and easy. A good design team will make sure your site has menus, buttons and other features that work – and work well.
Average Web Design Costs
Web designers can charge a bundle, that’s for sure. Here is a small sampling of online designer fees:
- Sites with bells and whistles like plug-in support, unique page designs, and extra graphics run the base price plus an additional $1800-$2000 range
- Third party service providers charge $3,000- $5,000 for a blog design package that includes:
1) Graphical comps produced in Photoshop
2) Graphical splicing for optimal CSS/XHTML structure
3) CSS/XHTML production in standards-compliant fashion
4) Unique CSS/XHTML adaptation to CMS platform of choice
5) Bell-and-whistle functionality to meet client requirements
- Individual web designers charge $2,500 for a signature website design that has bells and whistles for you, possibly earning $100 per hour.
But Beware Of Web Designers. Their Sites May Look Great, But Do The Sites Bring In Traffic - -And Keep It On Your Site For Awhile?
This is important! Your website MUST attract both Search Engines AND People to your site - -and keep them there for awhile – so that you can make money from their visits. You want others to enjoy your content, refer their friends, bookmark the site and return over and over again, using your site as a valuable resource tool.
And not all web designers are experienced at making valuable sites like these:

So save your MONEY, TIME and ENERGY!

CPA 101 and Blog Monetization
For those of new at monetizing our sites, I thought I would give a real brief explaination of what a CPA network is and why everyone should look into adding CPA ads as part of their monatization strategy.
So what is a CPA network, isn't it just another type of affiliate network? Well, yes and no. Like affiliate networks, CPA ad networks count on publishers like us to promote their offers. They uaually call us affiliates just like traditional networks.
Traditional affiliate networks focus on sales, however, many CPA ad networks focus on lead generation. What do I mean like that? Have you ever seen credit card offers? You can make some serious income just by getting people to inquire, put in an application and get accepted. Many of the new CPA networks give you a choice of both, payment on sales, and payment on lead generation.

12 Common Mistakes of an Online Business
Here is what I would call the most classic mistakes many small independent online Businesses owners make. While this is not a comprehensive list, avoiding these mistakes may save time and money as you venture into the world of marketing and building your business online.
- Trying to do it all and not spending enough time networking with people in your niche.
- Not having a laser like focus on your niche or target audience.
- Content to be the same as your competitors. How often I hear people say if I could only be like so and so or get the traffic as so and so. Domination of your niche and striving for excellance needs to be all of our goals.
- Failure to implement a plan, or not having a specific concrete marketing and monetization strategy.
- Relying on one or two strategies or tactics to market or monitize your biz. Multiple streams of income is key.
- The idea or belief that just having a business out there, or a web presence will get you business. Once you reach the publishing phase, a full 50 to 70% of your time should be spend on marketing and monetization, the rest on publishing and research.

Niche Site Checklist
I took some time today and brainstomed a list of tasks that I do when I create a niche or authority site. Of course each task can be an article or book in itself and will very based on what type of authority or niche site you are developing. I hope this list will be a useful resource of some of the things to do and take into consideration when developing a site. This is by no means a complete list but contains most of the basics. Everyone should make their own list. Here is my checklist:

By now almost everyone has heard the term Niche Sites. It is a very popular, and manytimes overused buzz word amongst internet marketers. It seems that almost everyone who wants to build a site is jumping on the bandwagon an building niche site in hopes of dominiating the search engine rankings for their particular niche and making tons of money. And for good reason. Before I go into that lets define the term a bit further. A niche site can be defined as a site that focuses on a narrow subject or market. Examples might include pets, fishing, landscaping, parenting, etc. The biggest advantage of focusing on a particular niche is that big businesses usually don’t bother and the competition is less fierce. The trick to finding a good niche is to find one which is rich in keywords that people search for, has high monthly volume, and is not satuated by big competition.

Incorporating Social Media Into Your Marketing Mix
Social marketing is something that we all need to be using to effectively market our content. In fact, most recently the web has not only integrated social networking and social media in its content distribution methods but has become a social network in itself. Quality user-generated content is just as important as traditional advertising methods. This integration has allowed the users of the web a voice rather than giving the control to the advertising media.
